K-pop
K-pop, short for Korean pop music, originated in South Korea in the 1990s. However, it wasn't until the late 1990s and early 2000s that K-pop started to gain significant popularity both within Korea and internationally.
One of the first successful K-pop groups was Seo Taiji and Boys, who debuted in 1992 and gained a large following with their fusion of rap, rock, and techno music.
